Kia America joins cutting-edge mobility companies for Electrify Expo, a series of five local events where leaders in electrification come together to discuss the key challenges, insights, available research, and trends facing the mobility sector as it moves toward an all-electric future. After events earlier this summer in the Long Beach, CA, Seattle and NYC-Metro areas, the series continues October 8-9, at Regatta Park in Miami, where attendees will have the opportunity to experience the Kia EV6 first-hand.

Kia has ranked second among mass market brands in the J.D. Power 2022 Tech Experience Index (TXI) Study. The new study rates advanced technologies in new vehicles with an innovation score and Kia continued its strong momentum following high ranks in the J.D. Power 2022 Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) and Automotive, Performance, Executive and Layout (APEAL) study with a place among the eight most innovative brands.

Kia America announced its first NFT series, based on “Robo Dog”, the robot puppy and star of Kia’s Super Bowl spot. Partnering with NFT platform Sweet and The Petfinder Foundation, the series is available in three unique and accessible collections with 90-percent of all primary sales proceeds benefiting The Petfinder Foundation to help animals in need find their forever homes. In addition, a 10-percent royalty is written into the smart contract on the blockchain, so whenever a Robo Dog NFT across the series is resold on a participating secondary market, The Petfinder Foundation will again benefit from funding for additional pet adoptions.

Kia America’s return to the Super Bowl will feature the all-new, all-electric Kia EV6. Arriving in showrooms in early 2022, EV6 is the first model to be launched under Kia’s Plan S strategy which puts electrification at the forefront of the company’s future. Kia’s first dedicated electric vehicle also marks the first time a Korean vehicle manufacturer has received carbon footprint certification and a ‘Carbon Measured’ label from the Carbon Trust, the global climate change and sustainability consultancy.

Kia America has rebranded its long-standing in-car and app-based telematics system from “UVO” to “Kia Connect,” aligning with the automaker’s new future-focused brand direction, centered around electrification. The renaming emphasizes the importance of connectivity as, starting with model year 2022, one or more configurations of each Kia vehicle will have access to Kia Connect. The brand has seen its number of connected cars grow forty-fold from 15,000 in 2018, to an estimated 600,000 by the end of 2021.

Kia EV6 has achieved product carbon footprint certification and ‘Carbon Measured’ label from the global climate change and sustainability consultancy the Carbon Trust, becoming the first Korean vehicle manufacturer to achieve the certificate.
2022 KIA STINGER EARNS IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ AWARD
The 2022 Stinger sport sedan has been awarded the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick Plus (TSP+) rating with the implementation of standard LED headlights. Previously a Top Safety Pick, the refreshed 2022 Stinger earned ratings of ‘good’ in all six IIHS crashworthiness evaluations, including the driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests. The Stinger comes standard with Forward Collision Avoidance Assist that earned a superior rating in the vehicle-to-vehicle evaluation and an advanced rating in the vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluation.
