KIA AMERICA’S GROWTH CONTINUES WITH TENTH STRAIGHT YEAR-OVER-YEAR MONTHLY SALES INCREASES
Fast-growing Kia America continues its hot streak as the brand posted total May sales of 71,497 units, marking the second-highest monthly sales total in company history and the tenth consecutive month of year-over-year sales increases. Sales of retail units in May totaled 65,197, marking an increase of 21-percent year-over-year, with combined sales increasing by 23-percent. Several models posting double- and even triple-digit sales increases, including: Seltos (+171-percent); Stinger (+102-percent); Carnival (+80-percent); Soul (+45-percent); Telluride (+35-percent); Sportage (+24-percent) and Sorento (+13-percent). May sales were driven by Kia’s lineup of capable SUVs, which increased 35-percent year-over-year and accounted for 74-percent of the brand’s total volume. The Sportage, Telluride and Seltos models also set best-ever May sales records, up 17-, 29- and 39-percent, respectively, over each model’s previous record-setting May performances set in 2021. In addition, Seltos set an all-time monthly sales record with sales up 15-percent over the previous best-ever monthly sales performance set by the model in March 2021. Sales of Kia’s electrified models set a new May record – posting a 33-percent increase over May 2022 – and a new any-month record up by 4-percent over the previous record which was set just last month. Sales of the all-electric Kia EV6 also set a new May sales record, increasing 7-percent over May 2022. In addition, overall sales of the model increased 80-percent over last month thanks in part to a marketing campaign and competitive lease program.
KIA AMERICA PROVIDES NEW 2023 AND 2024 SELTOS SUV BUYERS WITH THE APP TO ADVENTURE
With the refreshed 2024 Kia Seltos SUV arriving in showrooms now, Kia America has teamed up with the AllTrails+ app to amplify outdoor adventures. Now through December 31, 2023, customers that purchase or lease a new 2023 or 2024 Seltos SUV are eligible to receive a promo code for a six-month trial of the AllTrails+ premium app.
Hyundai Motor America and Kia America Resolve Consumer Litigation in Response to Vehicle Thefts
Hyundai Motor America and Kia America, Inc. today announced they have entered into an agreement to resolve class action litigation with owners of certain Hyundai and Kia vehicles without push-button ignitions and immobilizing anti-theft devices. The agreement, which could be valued at approximately $200 million depending on how many customers elect to participate, will provide cash compensation for customers who incurred theft-related vehicle losses or damage not covered by insurance, in addition to reimbursement for insurance deductibles, increased insurance premiums, and other theft-related losses.
ELECTRIFYING KIA EV6 OFFERS MAKE DRIVING AWARD-WINNING CROSSOVER MORE AFFORDABLE
Kia America is making the award-winning EV6 crossover more affordable. From now to July 5, 2023, Kia America is offering a $7,500 EV lease bonus, applied as a capitalized cost reduction, on a lease of a new 2023 EV6 to well-qualified customers. From now until July 5, 2023, well-qualified lessees approved by Kia Finance can lease a 2023 EV6 Wind RWD for $499 a month for 36 months with $4,999 due at lease inception(3). Alternatively, for well-qualified buyers, Kia Finance America is offering up to $3,750 in standard-rate finance bonus cash towards the purchase of a new 2023 Kia EV6.
HOT STREAK CONTINUES FOR KIA AMERICA WITH NINTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR-OVER-YEAR MONTHLY SALES INCREASE
Following its best first quarter sales performance in company history, Kia America’s sales and market share growth continued with April delivering the brand’s ninth consecutive year-over-year monthly sales increase with 68,205 units sold, a 15.5 -percent increase over the same period last year. Sales of Kia’s electrified offerings, which totaled 11,798 units, were up 74-percent over the same period last year and 22-percent over the previous monthly sales record set in March 2023. In addition, Kia’s Carnival MPV achieved record-breaking April sales posting an increase of 52-percent over the previous high in April 2021. Kia’s SUV sales also set new records with Sportage and Telluride posting increases of 18- and 4-percent, respectively, over the previous same month records set by the models in April 2022. Overall, Kia’s capable utility vehicles accounted for 71-percent of April sales.

Building on 2022’s best-ever market share achievement, Kia America opened 2023 with a record first quarter of 184,136 units, a 15-percent increase over the previous high set in 2021.

Kia America’s record-breaking sales trajectory continued with best-ever February sales of 60,859. The milestone performance follows the best retail sales total in company history in 2022 and marks Kia’s seventh consecutive monthly sales record. Five Kia nameplates – Carnival, Forte, Niro, Sportage and Telluride – posted best-ever February totals and sales of Kia’s electrified models increased 32-percent over the same period last year.

KIA AMERICA OPENS 2023 WITH BEST-EVER JANUARY SALES
Following the best retail sales in company history last year, Kia America began 2023 with a record-setting January performance of 51,983 units, up 22.3-percent year-over-year. January marked Kia’s sixth consecutive monthly sales record with four of Kia’s SUV and utility nameplates – Niro, Sportage, Telluride and Carnival – as well as the Forte compact sedan posting best-ever January totals. Sales of Kia’s electrified models increased 128-percent over the same period last year.
KIA AMERICA COMPLETES BEST RETAIL SALES YEAR IN COMPANY HISTORY
Kia America, which celebrated its 30th year in business in October 2022, announced best-ever December sales of 60,422 units, an increase of 11.2-percent over the previous December record set in 2016 and up 25-percent year-over-year. With the close of 2022 sales, Kia also marked its best-ever fourth quarter performance, which pushed the brand’s annual retail sales volume to 654,554, an increase of 1.7-percent compared to previous retail record in 2021
KIA AMERICA BRINGS THE MAGIC OF THE NORTH POLE TO PATIENTS AT ST. JUDE CHILDREN’S RESEARCH HOSPITAL
Kia America is continuing to “Accelerate The Good” this holiday season by expanding its partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in an effort to bring the joy and magic of the holiday season directly to St. Jude patients and families. Created by David&Goliath (D&G), Kia’s creative agency of record, the “Season of Giving Back” campaign gives children at St. Jude and their parents the gift of a virtual trip to the North Pole without ever having to leave the comfort and safety of the St. Jude campus. For the first time in the hospital’s history, the TV spot was filmed on-site at St. Jude in Memphis, Tennessee. In addition to airing on television, the video will be available on the St. Jude in-house television network.
KIA AMERICA POSTS BEST-EVER NOVEMBER SALES
Kia America announced best-ever November sales of 56,703 units, an 8-percent increase over the previous November sales record set in 2016, and a 25.1-percent improvement year-over-year. For the second consecutive month, sales were led by the Sportage family of SUVs, which were up 144-percent over the same period a year ago. Sales of Kia’s electrified models – which have posted double or triple-digit gains in the past five months – also contributed to the record-breaking performance with a 133-percent year-over-year increase.
KIA AMERICA HERALDS START OF 2023 CELEBRATION WITH NATIONWIDE TOUR OF ICONIC TIMES SQUARE NEW YEAR’S EVE NUMERALS
Kia America kicked off an early start to celebrating the arrival of 2023 with a nationwide tour of the iconic Times Square New Year’s Eve Numerals that will illuminate New York City’s Times Square on December 31, when the Ball Drops and the New Year begins. Yesterday, the 2023 Numerals departed the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and began a coast-to-coast road trip designed to bring the excitement and anticipation of the New Year to people across the country. The Numerals are being towed by a 2023 Kia Telluride X-Pro, and along the 2,795 mile journey, the 2023 Numerals will stop in exciting locations in conjunction with special holiday events to help share the anticipation.
KIA AMERICA DROPS LATEST DIGITAL COLLECTIBLE AS PART OF “LEGENDS OF THE DRIVEWAY” CAMPAIGN FOR THE NEW TELLURIDE
Kia America is continuing its foray into web3, which incorporates concepts such as decentralization, blockchain technologies, and token-based economics, with its “Legends of the Driveway” NFT collection in light of “Giving Tuesday” on November 29. The project is designed to help drive fundraising for MobilizeGreen, a national nonprofit that has engaged more than 2,500 young people of color in paid “green” and STEM-focused career-pathway internships in collaboration with government agency partners since 2014.
KIA AMERICA ANNOUNCES RECORD OCTOBER SALES
Kia America announced record October sales of 58,276 units, a 3.9-percent increase over the previous October sales record set in 2020, and an 11.9-percent improvement year-over-year. Led by the Sportage family of SUVs, including the Sportage HEV and PHEV models, which were up 118-percent over the same period a year ago, October sales were also boosted by a 101-percent year-over-year increase for Kia’s electrified models. In addition, four Kia models posted double-digit sales increases, including: Seltos SUV (37-percent), Forte (19-percent), Sorento (18-percent), and Niro (16-percent ).
