Sedona Minivans to Provide Assistance to More Than One Thousand Riders Traveling to Vietnam Memorial to Promote Healing and Accountability

  • All-new 2015 Sedona to transport those who would otherwise be unable to make the journey as well as essential supplies

  • 10-day cross-country motorcycle ride brings communities together to celebrate those who have served

IRVINE, Calif., May 12, 2015 – Kia Motors America (KMA) is a proud supporter of Run For The Wall, which recognizes all veterans who have served.  The 10-day cross-country motorcycle journey is dedicated to promoting healing among veterans and their families and friends, as well as an accounting of all Prisoners of War (POW) and those Missing in Action (MIA).  Riders will depart Ontario, California, May 13, via three routes for a cross-country mission that concludes at the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, DC.  Kia’s support includes sponsorship of a fuel stop along all three routes as well as Sedonas to help transport supplies for the mission and for those unable to ride.

“Kia is grateful to the brave men and women who have elected to serve our country, and the Run For The Wall is an annual event that honors their sacrifice,” said Tim Chaney, vice president of marketing communications, KMA.  “By supplying Kia Sedona minivans as support vehicles on all three routes and financial support for the ride, we hope to further the organization’s mission of healing.”

During the 10-day journey, riders will visit veterans’ hospitals, schools and memorials.  Communities will come together to greet the riders with hot meals and logistical support.  Kia’s 2015 Sedonas will carry needed supplies, wreaths for the Memorials as well as items given by communities and schoolchildren to be left at The Wall.

“Kia’s support of Run For The Wall is instrumental in helping our riders make what, for many, is an emotional trek across the country,” said Ken Hargrove, President, Run For The Wall.  “We are grateful that companies such as Kia have joined us for the journey.”
