10/09/14 - KIA MOTORS BRAND VALUE SKYROCKETS 480 PERCENT SINCE 2007

Since declaring design management as a core driver of the company’s future growth and the hiring of President & Chief Design Officer Peter Schreyer in 2007, Kia Motors Corporation’s brand value has skyrocketed by 480% from US$929 million to US$5.4 billion, according to Interbrand’s exclusive list of 100 ‘Best Global Brands 2014’ which was released today. This rise in brand value far outpaces the average growth rate over the same period of all 11 other automakers on this year’s list.

09/15/14 - KIA RACING WINS 2014 PIRELLI WORLD CHALLENGE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Kia Motors claimed the 2014 Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) Grand Touring Sport (GTS) and Touring Car A (TC-A) Manufacturer Championships at the series’ season finale this past weekend at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. On the strength of five pole positions, five race wins and 13 podium finishes during the 16-race PWC season, Kia Racing and partner Kinetic Motorsports bested teams from Ford, Chevrolet, Porsche, Aston Martin and Nissan making Kia the first Korean brand to earn the coveted title of PWC Champion.

09/08/14 - 2015 KIA FORTE EARNS NHTSA 5-STAR SAFETY RATING

Kia Motors America’s (KMA) second-generation Forte compact sedan has earned the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) 5-Star overall safety rating . 08/01/14 - KIA MOTORS AMERICA ANNOUNCES RECORD JULY SALES

Coming off the best first half sales performance in company history, Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced record July sales of 52,309 units, a 6.7 percent increase over the same period last year. After launching seven all-new or significantly redesigned vehicles in 2013, Kia’s year-to-date sales are up 7.2 percent, and the brand’s aggressive new product cadence will continue this quarter with the scheduled launches of the all-new Sedona and Soul EV. Since arriving in 2009, U.S. sales of the iconic Soul have exceeded the 500,000 unit mark, and the wildly popular urban passenger vehicle recently topped the Compact MPV segment in the J.D. Power APEAL Study for the third straight year.

Coming off its best-ever first-half sales performance in company history, the fun and funky 2014 Soul has received the J.D. Power Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) award for the third straight year in the Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle segment. All new for the 2014 model year, the Soul sold an individual nameplate record 74,999 units in the first half of 2014.

On the heels of its highest-ever J.D. Power Initial Quality Study (IQS) ranking – sixth among all automakers – Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced June sales of 50,644 units, contributing to the company’s best-ever first-half performance with 297,413 vehicles sold thus far in 2014. With Kia’s year-to-date sales up 7.2 percent, the brand’s aggressive new product cadence continues in the third quarter with the scheduled launches of the all-new Sedona midsize multi-purpose vehicle and Soul EV.

Patrons visiting Segerstrom Center for the Arts will experience a new side of luxury as Kia Motors America (KMA) proudly introduces the all-new K900 rear drive luxury sedan in collaboration with the Center, which presents a wide variety of the most significant national and international productions of national Broadway tours, music, dance, jazz, cabaret, family entertainment, special events and many free public performances to the people of Southern California on multiple stages. As Official Automotive Partner, Kia has built three custom K900 displays that will reside on Segerstrom Center for the Art’s campus. Kia also will provide a complimentary vehicle to aid in transporting teaching artists and the Center’s community education staff to events throughout the year. Segerstrom Center for the Arts is the largest provider of arts education programs on the West Coast, touching the lives of nearly 320,000 young people and families each year.

06/18/14 - KIA RANKS SIXTH AMONG AUTOMAKERS IN 2014 J.D. POWER INITIAL QUALITY STUDY

J.D. Power 2014 Initial Quality Study (IQS) has ranked the Kia Sportage and Kia Cadenza as leaders in the Small SUV and Large Car segments, respectively. Furthermore, Kia has moved up four positions over last year’s IQS ranking and now stands at number six (in a tie) in the automotive industry for initial quality out of a field of 32 car brands. The 2014 Sportage ranked first (in a tie) in the Small SUV segment for the second consecutive year, and the Cadenza ranked highest in the prestigious Large Car category, recognized by IQS for its first U.S. model year.

06/03/14 - KIA MOTORS AMERICA ANNOUNCES LARGEST MONTHLY SALES TOTAL IN COMPANY HISTORY

Kia Motors America (KMA) is celebrating its 20th anniversary in the U.S., and the brand’s momentum reached historic new heights in May with an all-time best monthly sales total of 60,087, a 14.8-percent increase over the same period in 2013 and the first time KMA has achieved more than 60,000 sales in a single month. Kia’s unsurpassed May performance was driven by record demand for the U.S.-built* Optima midsize sedan, which set an all-time single-month record for Kia of 16,843 units, while the iconic Soul delivered the best performance in its five-year history with 15,606 vehicles sold.
