08/28/15 - KIA MOTORS AMERICA AND HISPANIC ASSOCIATION OF COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES ANNOUNCE SELECTION OF SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
Kia Motors America (KMA) and the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) today announced the recipients of 16 scholarships in the amount of $4,000 each. HACU member colleges and universities in the U.S. are home to more than two-thirds of all Hispanic college students. To be eligible for the scholarship, students needed to maintain a 3.0 grade point average and be enrolled at one of the more than 400 national HACU member institutions.

07/08/15 - KIA K900 SETS RECORD-HIGH SCORE IN AUTOPACIFIC VEHICLE SATISFACTION AWARDS
Four models from Kia Motors America (KMA) were recognized as segment winners of the 2015 AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards (VSA), including the K900 luxury sedan, which ranked at the top of the Luxury Car category and won AutoPacific’s coveted President’s Award, given to the vehicle that achieves the highest-ever overall VSA score. This is only the third time this award has been given in the 19-year history of the VSAs. The other three Kia winners included the 2015 Cadenza, 2015 Soul (tie) and 2015 Sportage in the Large Car, Compact Car and Compact Crossover SUV categories, respectively, with the Soul scoring its second consecutive win. Kia had more category winners than any other brand and ranked third (tie) among all Popular non-premium automakers for overall brand score.

With more units in operation in the U.S. than ever before, Kia Motors reached another historic milestone today when J.D. Power recognized the brand as the second-highest scoring nameplate industry-wide in its 2015 Initial Quality Study (IQS). Kia’s IQS score improved by 20 points over its previous best-ever performance in 2014, vaulting the growing automaker up four positions to second overall among 33 automotive brands and highest among all mass-market nameplates.

03/25/15 - KIA MOTORS AMERICA EXPANDS SOUL EV AVAILABILITY TO FIVE ADDITIONAL STATES
Following the successful launch of the Soul EV late last year in California, Kia Motors America (KMA) is proud to announce it is expanding availability of its fullycharged urban runabout into five new states: Georgia, Texas, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii. Electric vehicle demand has been growing in these states, and consumers there have expressed a lot of interest in Soul EV. And with more than 1,8001 charging stations combined, the robust EV infrastructure within these markets makes battery-powered travel convenient and an increasingly appealing choice for consumers. Within each state, select Kia retailers will be certified to sell and service the Soul EV, and customers will have access to charging stations installed at these facilities. The Soul EV-authorized Kia dealership locations will be announced closer to the Soul EV’s on-sale date in the expansion states later this year. Additional markets are set to come online in 2016.

Since declaring design management as a core driver of the company’s future growth and the hiring of President & Chief Design Officer Peter Schreyer in 2007, Kia Motors Corporation’s brand value has skyrocketed by 480% from US$929 million to US$5.4 billion, according to Interbrand’s exclusive list of 100 ‘Best Global Brands 2014’ which was released today. This rise in brand value far outpaces the average growth rate over the same period of all 11 other automakers on this year’s list.

09/15/14 - KIA RACING WINS 2014 PIRELLI WORLD CHALLENGE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Kia Motors claimed the 2014 Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) Grand Touring Sport (GTS) and Touring Car A (TC-A) Manufacturer Championships at the series’ season finale this past weekend at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. On the strength of five pole positions, five race wins and 13 podium finishes during the 16-race PWC season, Kia Racing and partner Kinetic Motorsports bested teams from Ford, Chevrolet, Porsche, Aston Martin and Nissan making Kia the first Korean brand to earn the coveted title of PWC Champion.

Kia Motors America’s (KMA) second-generation Forte compact sedan has earned the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) 5-Star overall safety rating . With its long list of standard safety features and extensive use of high-strength steel, the Forte sedan rated 5 stars in the side-impact test and 4 stars in the frontal and rollover tests. Starting at $15,890 , the Forte offers sport-sedan styling with class-up amenities and appointments at a tremendous value.

08/01/14 - KIA MOTORS AMERICA ANNOUNCES RECORD JULY SALES
Coming off the best first half sales performance in company history, Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced record July sales of 52,309 units, a 6.7 percent increase over the same period last year. After launching seven all-new or significantly redesigned vehicles in 2013, Kia’s year-to-date sales are up 7.2 percent, and the brand’s aggressive new product cadence will continue this quarter with the scheduled launches of the all-new Sedona and Soul EV. Since arriving in 2009, U.S. sales of the iconic Soul have exceeded the 500,000 unit mark, and the wildly popular urban passenger vehicle recently topped the Compact MPV segment in the J.D. Power APEAL Study for the third straight year.

Coming off its best-ever first-half sales performance in company history, the fun and funky 2014 Soul has received the J.D. Power Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) award for the third straight year in the Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle segment. All new for the 2014 model year, the Soul sold an individual nameplate record 74,999 units in the first half of 2014.
