07/01/15 - RECORD JUNE SALES PROPEL KIA MOTORS AMERICA TO BEST FIRST-HALF PERFORMANCE IN COMPANY HISTORY

After setting an all-time monthly sales record in May, Kia Motors America’s (KMA) momentum continued with best-ever June sales of 54,137 vehicles, capping off the greatest first-half performance in company history. With more than 300,000 vehicles sold in six months, Kia is up 4.6 percent year-to-date. Sales of the Sedona minivan, which was completely redesigned for the 2015 model year, reached new heights with a 707-percent increase over June 2014.

06/30/15 - KIA RACING SCORES BACK-TO-BACK PODIUM FINISHES DURING ROUNDS NINE AND TEN OF THE PIRELLI WORLD CHALLENGE AT ROAD AMERICA

Reigning Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) Grand Touring Sport (GTS) class Manufacturer Champion, Kia Motors continued its title defense at Road America, earning hard-fought back-to-back podium finishes in rounds nine and ten in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Mark Wilkins, pilot of the No. 38 B.R.A.K.E.S. Optima turbo, scored third and fourth place finishes during the doubleheader weekend, while teammate Ben Clucas, in the No. 36 DonorsChoose.org Optima turbo, scored a second-place finish in round ten. Both drivers struck the right balance between outright speed and tire conservation as their Optimas – the only front-wheel-drive cars in the field – kept pace with an onslaught of rear-wheel-drive sports cars and V8-powered muscle.

06/24/15 - DEFENDING CHAMPION KIA RACING AIMS TO REPEAT SUCCESS AT ROAD AMERICA DURING ROUNDS NINE AND 10 OF THE 2015 PIRELLI WORLD CHALLENGE

Kia Racing is no stranger to the winner’s podium at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, having scored a pair of victories last season with then teammates Mark Wilkins and Nic Jönsson. That weekend’s triumph paved the way for Kia to win the 2014 Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) Grand Touring Sport (GTS) Class Manufacturer Championship. This year, the team returns to America’s National Park of Speed looking for a repeat of last season’s success but also looking to make up ground in the title chase. Defending champion Kia sits third, ahead of Porsche, Chevy and Nissan, but trails Ford and Aston Martin as the series approaches the halfway point.

06/23/15 - KIA MOTORS AMERICA RENEWS PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ECOLOGY CENTER AND PROVIDES SOUL EV TO SUPPORT COMMUNITY OUTREACH EFFORTS

Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced the renewal of its partnership with The Ecology Center, a San Juan Capistrano, California-based non-profit eco-education center dedicated to creating a healthy and abundant future for all of Southern California and beyond. In its third year as a “Visionary” partner, Kia is providing the use of a 2015 Soul EV to The Ecology Center, which complements the two electric vehicle charging stations installed as part of the partnership last year. Kia and The Ecology Center will organize and carry out sustainability-themed learning projects at the KMA campus in Irvine, California, and in the surrounding community, and both organizations will continue work together to plan hands-on conservation and volunteer activities at The Center.

The Sportage carries into the 2016 model year with minor changes to simplify the line-up and add premium features. Power recognized the brand as the second-highest scoring nameplate industry-wide in its 2015 Initial Quality Study (IQS). Kia’s IQS score improved by 20 points over its previous best-ever performance in 2014, vaulting the growing automaker up four positions to second overall among 33 automotive brands and highest among all mass-market nameplates.

Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced all-time best monthly sales of 62,433 vehicles in May, marking the second time Kia has surpassed 60,000 units in a single month. The historic May was led by strong performances from the Optima midsize sedan and Soul urban passenger vehicle, as well as increased demand for the Sorento and Sportage crossovers. As part of the “Summer’s On Us” sales event, which began in May, sales of the Sedona minivan reached new heights since being completely redesigned for the 2015 model year, and the family of Forte compacts recorded its best-ever monthly sales total.

06/01/15 - KIA MOTORS AMERICA SIGNS ON AS OFFICIAL SPONSOR OF TELEMUNDO'S NEW WEB SERIES "EL MAESTRO: UNPLUGGED" FEATURING LATIN GRAMMY WINNER LUIS ENRIQUE

Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced that it has signed on as the official sponsor of TELEMUNDO's brand new web series "El Maestro: Unplugged." Starring Latin Grammy® winner Luis Enrique, the ten-episode web series follows three up-and-coming artists as he offers advice on how to achieve success in the music industry. Luis Enrique will be featured in the 2016 Kia Sorento and each episode will focus on an artist discussing his or her dream of making it in the music industry while taking an inspirational ride in the 2015 Kia Soul. The web series will roll out three new episodes each week, with the finale airing on June 11. This is the first time Kia and TELEMUNDO have partnered for an original web series, which will include on-air promotions and related digital activations.
