With March sales of 58,279 units – including best-ever single month sales for the Forte line of compact cars – Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced a new first quarter record of 146,321 vehicles. Following the best first half performance in company history, Kia Motors America’s (KMA) momentum continued with record third quarter sales, including a September sales record of 49,820 units, a 22.6-percent increase over the same period last year. The brand’s fifth consecutive monthly sales record was powered by the Soul and Optima with 13,614 and 11,719 units sold, respectively. Sorento sales increased 42-percent over the same period last year, and Sedona sales also were strong in the month which saw Cars.com name it the winner of its Ultimate Minivan Challenge.

Continuing to gain momentum, Kia Motors America (KMA) today reported best-ever August sales of 58,897 vehicles, a 7.7-percent increase over the same period last year and the brand’s fourth straight monthly sales record. Soul sales spiked to an all-time high single nameplate monthly sales total of 17,108 units, while other top movers in August included Optima and Sorento with 13,980 and 10,211 units sold, respectively. Kia is up 5.4 percent year-to-date.

Kia Motors America (KMA) capped a record-setting year with best-ever December sales of 45,587 vehicles – up 35.6 percent over the same period in 2013 – and the highest annual sales total in company history of 580,234 vehicles, up 8.4 percent year-over-year and 4.0 percent over the previous record set in 2012.
