The award recognizes models with the lowest depreciation among competitors during the first five years of vehicle ownership. The Kia Telluride has been named The Car Connection’s Best Family Car to Buy for 2021, marking the second time the big and boxy SUV has earned high marks from TCC editors. Last year, the Telluride was named Best Car To Buy, winning that designation by a landslide.

The Kia Seltos has been named a winner in two categories of Kelley Blue Book’s 2021 Best Buy Awards, earning the top spot in both the Best New Model and Subcompact SUV segments. Meanwhile, the Telluride beat the competition for the second year in a row to earn the title of Best Three-Row Midsize SUV.

Kia Motors America (KMA) is pleased to announce that Soul (Subcompact Crossover), Seltos (Subcompact Crossover), Rio (Subcompact Car) and Telluride (Midsize Crossover) have been named 2021 Consumer Guide® Automotive Best Buy Award winners. A seventh consecutive win for Soul marks the longest running streak in the Subcompact Crossover category.

The Telluride has been named to Car and Driver’s 10Best list for 2021, marking the second year in a row the big and bold SUV has earned a spot among the esteemed group of vehicles. The highly regarded awards recognize the smartest, most entertaining cars, trucks, SUVs, and vans on sale today.

“Bring it!” said Alyssa Roenigk, “I’m beyond charged to get going.” Roenigk, a senior writer at sports media giant ESPN, will drive a 2020 Telluride SX in the fifth annual Rebelle Rally, an all-women, off-road navigational challenge held in the deserts of California and Nevada. Starting October 8 in Lake Tahoe, California, the rally will cover 1,500 miles in eight days before reaching the finish line, October 16, in the Imperial Sand Dunes, California. Roenigk’s navigator, Sabrina Howells, has a huge job guiding the team through the course using only old-fashioned paper maps and a compass—no GPS, no cell phones, no digital devices of any kind. “I can’t wait,” Howells said, “I really geek out on this stuff.”

Kia Motors continues to “Accelerate The Good” through the donation of personal protective equipment (PPE) to hospitals and medical facilities nationwide. This week, the Kia “Telluriders” delivered face shields to the Kheir Clinic in Los Angeles. The deliveries are part of Kia’s Accelerate The Good initiatives, which includes ongoing face shield donations to medical facilities not only throughout Southern California, but also to facilities throughout Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, New York and Washington, D.C. The face shields are assembled at Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia in West Point and the brand will donate more than 500,000 face shields nationwide to help in the fight against COVID-19. In addition, Kia donated $1 million to non-profit partners that assist America’s homeless youth population.
