Three Kia models were awarded top honors in the annual “Best Cars for Families” rankings presented by the editors of U.S. News & World Report. The rugged and refined 2023 Kia Telluride SUV was named “Best 3-Row SUV for Families” for the fourth consecutive year, the all-electric 2023 Kia EV6 performance crossover was chosen as the first “Best Electric Vehicle for Families,” and the 2023 Kia K5 sedan earned its first title as “Best Midsize Car for Families.”

KIA AMERICA TEASES 14th SUPER BOWL AD

Today, the all-electric 2023 Kia EV6 performance crossover and the rugged and refined 2023 Kia Telluride SUV were recognized as 2023 Car and Driver 10Best Trucks and SUVs. This award for the Telluride marks its fourth time on the list in four years, distinguishing Telluride as one of few vehicles to be named a 10Best Award winner for each year it has been on sale. The 2023 honor for the EV6 is the first win for a Kia electric vehicle on the highly selective 10Best Awards list.

The editors at The Car Connection (TCC), a subsidiary of Internet Brands Automotive, have chosen two Kia vehicles among their Best Car To Buy 2023 awards.  As the Kia brand’s first major accolade in the new year, the 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid SUV has been named Best Economy Car To Buy 2023 and the 2023 Kia Telluride has been named Best Family Car To Buy 2023.  This year marks the third time in a row the wildly popular Telluride has earned praise from TCC as Best Family Car To Buy (2022 and 2021).  And prior to those wins, the big, bold and boxy SUV earned the overall Best Car To Buy 2020 designation.

The Kia Telluride, Seltos and Sportage Plug-in Hybrid sport-utility vehicles have been announced as category winners of the 2023 Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Awards. This is the fourth consecutive year that Telluride has been named as Best 3-Row Midsize SUV and the third year in a row that Seltos has been recognized as Best Subcompact SUV. The Sportage PHEV, in its first year of production, has been named the winner of the Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles category by the editors of Kelley Blue Book.

The 2022 Kia EV6 and 2023 Kia Telluride have both been recognized by the Hispanic Motor Press as the best vehicles of the year for Hispanic consumers. At the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Hispanic Motor Press named the EV6 as the Best EV of the Year, and crowned the Telluride as the SUV of the Year. The association’s jury panel of over 20 Hispanic automotive journalists, content creators, and industry influencers selected winners based off several key factors important to Hispanic consumers.

Kia America kicked off an early start to celebrating the arrival of 2023 with a nationwide tour of the iconic Times Square New Year’s Eve Numerals that will illuminate New York City’s Times Square on December 31, when the Ball Drops and the New Year begins. Yesterday, the 2023 Numerals departed the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and began a coast-to-coast road trip designed to bring the excitement and anticipation of the New Year to people across the country. The Numerals are being towed by a 2023 Kia Telluride X-Pro, and along the 2,795 mile journey, the 2023 Numerals will stop in exciting locations in conjunction with special holiday events to help share the anticipation.

Kia America is continuing its foray into web3, which incorporates concepts such as decentralization, blockchain technologies, and token-based economics, with its “Legends of the Driveway” NFT collection in light of “Giving Tuesday” on November 29.  The project is designed to help drive fundraising for MobilizeGreen, a national nonprofit that has engaged more than 2,500 young people of color in paid “green” and STEM-focused career-pathway internships in collaboration with government agency partners since 2014.

Last week, Kia took home the highest number of model awards – five – in the J.D. Power 2023 U.S. ALG Residual Value Awards. The segment wins by Telluride (Midsize SUVs with 3-row seating), Sportage (Compact SUVs), K5 (Midsize Cars), Soul (Micro SUVs), and Rio (Small Cars), led Kia to the best year-over-year improvement of any mass market brand in the annual evaluation.

A wide cross-section of Kia America’s world-class SUVs and sedans received high marks in the J.D. Power 2022 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS), with the Forte topping the Compact Car segment for the fourth consecutive year.
