After the Niro crossover captured a segment award in the 2017 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study, Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced the Niro Skill for Amazon Alexa to deliver instant access to product information for the Niro Crossover vehicle, direct to consumers. The Niro Skill for Amazon Alexa will offer product information, including local dealer inventory and product specifications to make the car shopping process easier for consumers.

KIA NIRO, SOUL, AND CADENZA NAMED SEGMENT WINNERS IN J.D. POWER 2017 AUTOMOTIVE PERFORMANCE, EXECUTION, AND LAYOUT (APEAL) STUDY
Kia Motors has earned three J.D. Power Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) awards with the Kia Niro, Kia Soul, and Kia Cadenza, all garnering awards in their respective segments. Kia is the only non-premium brand to register wins in three segments (in a three-way tie with two premium brands), earning accolades in the Small SUV segment (Niro), Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle segment (Soul) and Large Car segment (Cadenza). The announcement follows on the heels of Kia Motors recently being ranked highest in the industry in the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study (IQS) for the second year in a row and all three Kia APEAL study segment winners were also IQS segment winners.

KIA TOPS J.D. POWER’S INITIAL QUALITY NAMEPLATE RANKINGS FOR SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR
Continuing a multi-year string of quality and reliability awards and accolades, J.D. Power’s 2017 Initial Quality Study (IQS) today recognized Kia Motors as the highest-ranking nameplate in the United States for the second year in a row. Kia’s improvement to 72 problems per 100 vehicles marks the best nameplate performance within the last 20 years of the study, driven by five segment awards – the most of any nameplate – for the Soul (Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle), Forte (Compact Car), Cadenza (Large Car), Niro (Small SUV) and Sorento (Midsize SUV). The Kia Soul took home an IQS award for the third consecutive year while Kia’s two newest models, Cadenza and Niro, were outstanding performers in their first model year, with the Kia Cadenza earning the top score among all models ranked in the study. Together with the Optima and Sportage, each of the seven award eligible Kia models included in the 2017 IQS study finished first or second in their respective categories.

Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced pricing for the all-new 2017 Niro crossover hybrid. When the Niro arrives in dealerships early in 2017 it will be offered in five trim levels – FE, LX, EX, Touring and a limited-production, Launch Edition. MSRP for the FE is just $22,890 and the top-of-the-line Touring with its many luxury, infotainment and convenience features is $29,650. Destination charges of $895 are not included in the MSRP.
