WINNIPEG, May 9, 2016 – The Kia Motors America (KMA) online resource for news media has been honored as outstanding in its field with the awarding of a Gold Stevie® in the Online Press Room category in The 14th Annual American Business Awards last week.

The awards will be presented at a gala ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on Monday, June 20, 2016.

This is the second accolade for the site which was previously recognized as “Best in Class” at the Interactive Media Awards in 2013.

The KiaMedia.com site, first designed and built by DMT Development Systems Group Inc. in 2012, was refreshed in 2015 providing a more robust, highly visual format offering journalists improved access to content and models.

“Kia Motors America is wholeheartedly committed to providing the journalistic community with an industry-leading online press room experience,” says Glen Demetrioff, president and CEO of DMT. “We are incredibly proud to call ourselves their partner.”

The media site serves as an easy-to-use information portal for journalists and editors seeking product and corporate news, photos, videos, product specifications, and press kits while offering a customizable subscription system that notifies journalists of new developments as they happen.

“One of the top priorities within the KMA Corporate Communications department is to provide outstanding customer service to the journalists we work with every day,” said James Hope, national manager, product communications, KMA.  “A cornerstone to that high level of service is to offer an online media resource that is relevant and intuitive on the front end, while being flexible and easy-to-use on the back end.  The Gold Stevie award is proof that Kiamedia delivers on that promise.”

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word meaning “crowned,” the American Business Awards are the world's premier business awards, created in 2002 to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and working professionals worldwide. More than 250 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s Stevie Award winners from more than 3,400 nominations.

“The judges were extremely impressed with the quality of entries we received this year. The competition was intense and every organization that has won should be proud,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards.
