Hyundai/Kia Motors Makes Donation

$300,000 To Be Donated to American Red Cross

IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 13, 2001 – A $300,000 donation will be made to the American Red Cross on behalf of the Hyundai/Kia Motors Group in response to this week's tragic events.

Mong-Koo Chung, chairman of both Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Motors Corp. in Seoul, South Korea, announced the donation and expressed his deepest sorrow for the victims and their families.

"This is a very sad time," Chung said. "What happened this week affects everyone around the world. But, we have great faith that this donation - along with donations from others around the world - will enable the American Red Cross to help people who need help the most."

Kia Motors America is the U.S. sales, marketing and service arm of Kia Motors Corp., in Seoul, South Korea.
