Kia Hires New Eastern Region DirectorKen Brusca Joins Korean AutomakerIRVINE, Calif., May 14, 2002 – Kenneth R. Brusca joins Kia Motors America as director of regional operations in the Eastern region, based in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey. Brusca brings almost 20 years of experience in the automotive industry with both Ford Motor Company and Volvo Cars of North America. Prior to joining Kia, Brusca served as president and CEO of Volvo Cars of Canada, where he managed vehicle sales and marketing, parts warehousing and distribution, service operations and retailer relations. Brusca held several positions during his tenure with Volvo in the U.S., including sales manager, senior project manager, vice president of marketing and regional vice president for the company's central region. In his new position at Kia, Brusca will be responsible for overseeing the retail sales, wholesale operations, parts sales, dealer development, sales satisfaction, service satisfaction and consumer affairs for the company's Eastern region. "Ken brings with him truly comprehensive automotive retail experience," said Peter M. Butterfield, Kia's executive vice president and chief operating officer. "As we continue to strengthen our senior management team, we look forward to continued growth and success in our Eastern region with Ken at the helm." Kia posted record sales of 223,726 units for calendar year 2001, representing a 39 percent increase from the record sales of 160,606 units in 2000. Kia Motors America is the U.S. sales, marketing and service arm of Kia Motors Corp. in Seoul, South Korea.
